Orgonomy is presented as the science of orgone energy and of the manifestations Wilhelm Reich observed in different realms of nature and human experience.
Reich described both qualitative aspects—such as spiral form, pulsatory behavior and luminescence—and quantitative aspects related to heat, static electricity and bacterial growth.
His path began with the study of neuroses and mental illness, the psychic realm. Research into character, armor, sexuality and orgasm then led him to observe relationships between individuals and social phenomena.
From the physical component of neuroses, Reich turned to biological functions, the formation of bions and abiogenesis. The study of SAPA bions eventually opened the field of physical manifestations and cosmological applications in his research.
Today these different realms form distinct areas of reading and research for scholars of Reich’s work.
